Experienced a good or bad year? However your 2013 has gone, the dawning of a brand New Year is the perfect time to be thinking about not just making changes to your personal life, but also about how you can improve your property to help you enjoy better home living.
There are numerous resolutions you could make to help you achieve this goal and Greenway Home Improvements has listed just a few of them:
Extend your home
If you’ve found throughout the year and particularly at times such at Christmas when having family members over that you’re increasingly running short on space, then perhaps it’s time to start thinking about investing in a home extension.
A conservatory or orangery will add a massive amount of new-found space to your property that you can utilise in multiple ways. It will also bring your home that much closer to your garden so that you can enjoy the most spectacular views when sat inside.
Have a clear-out
You create extra space by having a good clear-out. Throw all those useless and broken items from the garage, study or spare bedroom into the nearest skip or if there’s anything you have that you feel could earn you some money that you no longer need then why not have a car boot or sell them on an online auction site. Don’t forget to take any suitable items down to the nearest charity shop too.
Cut your energy bills
Change your mind-set and ensure that e.g. appliances are switched off when not in use, hot showers are kept to a minimum, mobile phones aren’t overcharged. Then double-check to see if you can find a cheaper energy tariff by using an online comparison site and switch if necessary. A new set of windows and doors will also help your cause.
Decorate a room
A brand new colour scheme in your kitchen, living room or bedroom, can totally revitalise your home and get it back on trend. If you however can’t afford a total overhaul then just a few little changes and modifications here and there such as painting kitchen cabinets, replacing handles, adding a few lampshades, pictures, can make a world of difference to its appearance and feel.
Replace old appliances
Most white goods are rated in terms of their level of energy efficiency. ‘A’ rated items are the best so if you have the cash to hand, buy them as they will make for a great long-term investment, saving huge amounts of money on energy.
